The future belongs to those who dare to challenge it. POSCO is sparing no effort in supporting employees who take on challenges for the future. To provide employees with new growth opportunities and discover future growth businesses, POSCO introduced its in-house venture incubation program, PoVentures (POVENTURES).
Teams selected for the in-house venture program receive up to one year of startup incubation, along with post-launch support such as assistance with market entry and sales channel development. However, the program’s most distinctive feature is the “startup leave-of-absence system,” which allows employees to pursue entrepreneurship without fear of failure. Even if a venture does not succeed, employees can return to the company within three years.
Since introducing PoVentures in 2019, POSCO has selected 23 teams, of which 12 teams have gone on to launch startups. Meanwhile, four teams selected for the third cohort in 2021 are currently undergoing incubation. Recruitment for the fourth cohort will begin at the end of July.
